Legal Notice · Draft of 31 October 2026

Privacy, Plainly

A paper that refuses advertisers has no reason to watch its readers. Here is everything this site keeps, and why.

Draft. This notice describes the site as it is built today. It will be reviewed before Signals takes sign-ups or payments, and the publisher's legal name and contact address will be printed here then.

I. What we never do

  • Sell, rent or trade anything about you.
  • Share readers' details with advertisers, sponsors or political campaigns.
  • Use advertising trackers, tracking pixels or cross-site cookies.
  • Build a profile of what you read to target you.

II. What this site keeps

Reading
Nothing. Reading the paper needs no account and sets no cookies.
Day or night edition
If you choose one, your browser remembers the choice on your own device (in local storage, under the name signals-theme). It is never sent to us.
The coupon
If you post the subscription coupon, we keep your email address and the lines you circled (brief, membership, contributing), only to send what you asked for and to answer you. Sign-ups are not open yet; until they are, the coupon sends nothing.
Server records
Like any website, the host that serves these pages may keep short technical logs (address of the request, time, page asked for) to keep the site running and secure.

III. Others involved

Fonts. The typefaces on these pages are served from this site itself. Reading the paper sends no request to any other company.

Email. When briefs begin, they will be sent through a mail service named here, chosen for not tracking opens.

IV. Your say

You may ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and every brief will carry a one-step way to stop receiving it. Signals intends to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the law of wherever its readers are.

Changes. If this notice changes, the new version is printed here with its date, and the old one stays available.
